Teachers

Learning together is powerful. Use your experience navigating mental health challenges to help others in their journey in a structured, group environment.

This opportunity is right for you if:

You like to provide information through a standard curriculum to those who need information, education, and support.
You want to use your lived experience as someone with a mental health condition or family/friend of someone who has a mental health condition to relate to the material.
You can commit to teaching for 6 or 8 consecutive weeks on the same day.
You can attend a 2-day training on the weekend.

Facilitators

There is strength in support of a community. Use your experience navigating mental health conditions to facilitate positive and healing conversations.

This opportunity is right for you if:

You like to support others with their immediate issues each time you meet.
You want to use your lived experience as a person with a mental health condition or family member/friend of someone who has a mental health condition to demonstrate our principles of support.
You can commit to facilitating once or twice a month on the same day for 90 minutes.
You can attend a 2-day training on the weekend.

Presenters

Storytelling builds connection and empathy. Use your story of navigating mental health conditions by sharing your personal story in the community.

Office Volunteers

It's the small tasks behind the scenes that make programs successful. Come help our staff with the day-to-day needs of the organization.

Event Assistants

Change the mental health conversation with education, awareness, and fundraising events throughout the year.

Professional Services

NAMI RGV volunteers are pretty smart, but we don't know everything. Your expertise or passion could be the strength we are missing.
